How To Generate Swarms Of Targeted Traffic

To follow the progress of your site, you should regularly check its link popularity, install the Google Toolbar to see changes in Page Rank, and also install a traffic counter(preferably an invisible one) to see how many visitors you have per day and also many other statistics - I recommend StatCounter.com

Step 6 - Making Money

So we're finally here, probably the step you've been waiting for the most: capitalizing on your blog's traffic.

These days the easiest way to make money from your site is by joining the Google Adsense Program. Join Adsense here.

As Wikipedia states, Adsense is an ad serving program run by Google. Website owners can enroll in this program to enable text, image and, more recently, video advertisements on their sites. These ads are administered by Google and generate revenue on either a per-click or per-thousand-impressions basis.

So you'll earn money for every click that someone makes on an ad on your site. If you haven't already realized this, you are not allowed to click on your own ads or encourage someone else to do it - Google will know and will ban you for life if you try any cheating - so don't do it!

Google does let you choose the colors of the ads(border, background, title, text, url) and it is always a good idea to make the ads blend with your site - for example if the background of your site is light blue then make sure your ad background and border are also light blue so they blend in and look a lot less like ads ... your CTR(click-through-rate)will grow using this technique ;)

Another good way of capitalizing on your traffic is joining affiliate programs and promoting their products on your site.

A good place to start would be to join Clickbank.com - this is probably the best affiliate network on the net which will provide you with a wide variety of affiliate programs to promote and make money from.

You can also find affiliate programs by searching on Google for"keyphrase + affiliate program" ... pretty obvious huh ? ;)

Step 5 - Link Building And Traffic Generation

I've already given you some link building techniques but I decided to make this a separate step because it is a very important aspect.

If you want high ranking in Google then you need lots and lots of links pointing to your blog. Here are the best ways of building link popularity:

1. Like I said before, send your articles to as many article directories as possible and don't forget to have your main keyphrase in the title of the link back to your blog(from the signature).
2. Find blogs of similar content with yours and make comments to the posts. Be careful not to spam, try to add some value to your comment. You'll be able to leave a link back to your blog in the comment.
3. Contact webmasters of similar blogs and ask for a link exchange. Be polite, compliment specific things from their blogs.
4. Join forums related to your blog content and make regular posts there. After each post your sig file containing a link back to your blog will be published.
5. Type "blog directory" in a Google search box and send your blog to as many directories as possible.

Do these 5 steps on a regular basis then type "link popularity check" into Google and see your link popularity, Page Rank and traffic grow.

Another thing I highly recommend is using an autoresponder service like Aweber.com to capture your visitors' email addresses. Create a 7 step course and send one issue per week. At the end of each issue make sure you have a link back to your site.

Email marketing is a very powerful tool but extremely easy to get wrong.

-If you're NOT properly educated about how to collect, manage, and store e-mail addresses...

-If you don't know how to avoid being accused of spamming and how to deal with the anti-spam organizations should you be accidentally "blacklisted" as a result of a few forgetful subscribers...

-If you don't know how to format your e-mail so that it will be displayed professionally in the majority of e-mail clients...

... e-mail marketing can be very frustrating, and it can produce very disappointing results.

On the other hand...

If you ARE educated and you DO know what works, what doesn't, and how to AVOID the dangers and pitfalls, you can dramatically increase the income of your online or offline business!
