Step-By-Step: PPC + CPA Offers

This is something that I have been using for some time now and it has worked great for me. This will probably NOT make you a fortune but it will generate some decent cash you can use to invest to grow your business.

Now, it's nothing revolutionary, but it's something that anyone can apply with success and that's why I decided to share my simple way of doing this.

The method is combining PPC traffic with pay-per-lead offers - nothing revolutionary like I said - but it works.

Step 1.

Join an affiliate network that provides pay per lead offers. Some examples:

www.cj.com - the best in my opinion
www.shareasale.com
www.incentaclick.com
www.modernclick.com
www.azoogleads.com

Step 2.

Find a pay per lead offer that pays somewhere around $5 but is not from the financial category. You should avoid these at first until you get more experience with this method. Traffic is a lot more expensive and that makes it a little risky.

You should also avoid offers that are paying around $1. You will be buying cheap traffic from search engines, but if the offer pays only one dollar then you're looking at very small profit even if the landing page's conversion is high.

Step 3.

Go to https://adwords.google.com/select/K...ToolExternal and enter the main keywords of the niche of the offer you have chosen.

This is to generate more keywords and more importantly, to see what people are paying for top positions.

After it generates more keywords click on the drop-down menu "Choose columns to display:" and select "Show estimated ad position" and "Show estimated Avg. CPC".

Enter $100 in the "Calculate Estimates using Max CPC: " box to make sure you see how much the top spots cost.

From experience I would say to avoid keywords that cost more than 2$/click for the top spot. You won't be buying top spots so you must be able to buy a 5-6 spot for around $0.10 - $0.20.

Now this is not an exact art so I am giving you some guidelines from what has worked for me. You are willing to test any keyword you wish.

Step 4.

I recommend using all of the major PPC services, but for starters you should use only Google - at least until your campaign starts making a good profit on autopilot.

So for now, you should go to adwords.google.com and open an account if you don't already have one. I'm not going to cover PPC basics here so if you're a complete newbie to this maybe you should first read Perry Marshall's Adwords e-book.

Create a new campaign, write 2 or 3 ads to see which brings in the most traffic add the keywords you have found in the previous step, and at first don't pay more than $.10 per click.

At this point, the 80/20 rule will apply (80% of the traffic will come from just 20% of the keywords).

I let the campaign to run for about a week and then I only keep the keywords that are bringing traffic.

Step 5.

Now is the time for some testing and conversion tracking. Let's say you're left with 8 keywords that bring traffic.

Let's take an example and assume that at this point for every $25 invested you make $50. At first you may be OK with that, but without testing you could be leaving money on the table.

You need to make sure which keywords bring you conversions and which not.

Go back to the affiliate network member's area and make 8 links for the chosen campaign each with a different tracking ID

It should look like this:

www.affliliatenetwork.com/id=yourid&sub=001
www.affliliatenetwork.com/id=yourid&sub=002
....
www.affliliatenetwork.com/id=yourid&sub=008

this is basically the same link, that leads to the same landing page, BUT with a different subID ...

now you just have to assign each link to one of the keywords.

so keyword1 = www.affliliatenetwork.com/id=yourid&sub=001

keyword2= www.affliliatenetwork.com/id=yourid&sub=002

etc...

Now go back to adwords and take the best performing ad, put it on every keyword individually and in the url box insert the url assigned to the chosen keyword.

When you'll have a conversion, you'll be able to see in the affiliate network member's area exactly which subID(and thus keyword) brought that conversion.

Going back to our example, if you were making $50 for each $25 invested, you might notice that perhaps only ONE keyword from the 8 you have brings conversions.

That means that you can practically lose all the other keywords as you were wasting money on them. You now make $50 for every $5 you invest ... now that ROI(return on investment) is a lot bigger :)

I usually let the keywords a whole month to perform to be sure of the accuracy of the results.

I hope I was able to make you understand the power of testing and tracking. It practically takes minutes to set all of this up... MINUTES!!!

When you finish going through all the steps, you'll have a highly optimized campaign that will make money for you on autopilot ... you just have to continue to send PPC traffic to it ... THAT'S IT!!!

And of course, after you finish setting up a campaign you follow the same steps and set another one ... and another ... and so on :)

Just try it, believe me it works!

I tried explaining everything as good and clear as I could but if you have questions, I'll be happy to help so just ask :)

Kind of a long post, but it will be worth the time you took to read it if you actually implement it.

TAKE ACTION!
